SuperValu, Ratoath – EXEED Upgrade

Helping the company become EXEED certified at their Ratoath store by imporving energy efficiency and reducing their energy bills.

Ratoath, Ireland

After an energy and conditional audit of the building and it’s mechanical and electrical systems, Lawler Sustainability made a number of recommendations that if implemented would allow SuperValu Ratoath to become an EXEED certified building. Our advice was to upgrade the control systems on the heating system, an evaluation and optimisation of duct work, systems control, pumping systems upgrade, boiler house modifications, installation of duct mounted gas fired module, upgrade of fixed speed motors to variable speed with better IE standard and extraction fan control upgrades.

€30,000 of annual energy savings were identified based on the above recommendations. This would cost SuperValu a €50,000 initial investment however the payback would be only a little over 1 year. The chanLawler Sustainability would bring their operating efficiency levels from a poor 70% to an excellent 90% which would benefit the stores long term revenue streams and allow for further energy efficiency projects in the future.
